Remedy Integration
Integration means linking products together for providing a better functionality and utility. Very often only one application is not enough to meet the business needs of an IT company but using two applications separately is less efficient than using them in conjunction. A user might have to enter the same information in different applications which might cause errors. This necessitate finding a way to make different products work together using the same data.
Although BMC provides a wide range of products for managing business processes within an IT company which can be used separately or integrated together sometimes an integration with a third party system is needed. The possible remedy integrations are endless. These are some of the most common integrations:
- Database integration – one or more customer applications and a remedy one can share same database
- Integration with a phone system – customer details are captured from a phone call and directly populated to the incident form which saves agent’s time and effort
- LDAP integration – external authentication
- Web services integration – any remedy application and a third party one can communicate and exchange data via web services
- Email systems integration
- OLE automation – any functionality from the Microsoft Office package can be integrated in remedy application (e.g. integrate spell check for a certain field)
